I dont see why they aren’t promoting Montz, Casto, Whitesell
Montz isn’t tearing it up by any mean…he has power but he doesn’t hit for avg…only one month or so is remaining to the schedule.
I’d promote these guys especially Casto…
Brian J Oliver | 26-Jul-06 at 8:33 pm | Permalink
There’s no reason to promote Casto at this point. Let him continue to work in LF as well as focus on improving versus LHP (0.181/0.327/0.193) so far in 2006.
Whitesell has nowhere to play in New Orleans, he’s blocked by Larry Broadway. He also needs to workon his plan at the plate (96K in 306AB). He swings too hard trying to hit the ball a mile.
Montz really hasn’t mastered RHPs in the Carolina League. It would likely be to his detriment to promote him to Harrisburg.
Honestly, at this point, I don’t envision a whole lot of promoting of players of note. You’ll see the organizational guys move around, but likely little else.
