Nats Acquire CF Nook Logan

The Nationals outrighted RP Kevin Gryboski to New Orleans and then acquired CF Nook Logan from the Detroit Tigers

The Washington Nationals today acquired 26 year-old center fielder Nook Logan from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Nationals Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made the announcement.
Logan, who is perhaps best known for his speed and defensive abilities in center field, is a .264 (120-for-455) career hitter with 17 doubles, one triple, one home run, 27 RBI and 31 stolen bases in 176 games spanning parts of two big league seasons (2004-05) with Detroit.  In 2004, Logan was tabbed as Tigers Rookie of the Year by the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association.  A year later, he was named the third-fastest runner in the American League in a Baseball America survey of league managers.  He was Detroit ’s third-round selection in the 2000 First-Year Player Draft
In 2005, Logan ’s first full big league campaign, he batted .258 (83-for-322) with 17 RBI and 23 stolen bases.  Logan’s speed allowed him to rank second among AL leaders in outfield putouts per 9.0 innings (2.9), infield hits (sixth with 27), stolen base percentage (eighth at 79%) and stolen bases (tied for ninth with 23).
