Is it a problem with NOLA being a PCL franchise? A move to Norfolk or eastwards would make a massive travel addition to all PCL teams.

VladiHondo: NOLA would remain a PCL team, and still owned by the same people. The NOLA franchise would simply sign an affiliation agreement with another MLB team — thus getting that team’s AAA players, coaches, etc.

Seems to me, that with Atlanta complaining about the stadium situation for their longtime AAA affilate in Richmond, the Nationals moving their AAA team there would be a “Capital” idea. On the flip side, with Atlanta moving their AA team to Mississippi two years ago, New Orleans would be a good place for their AAA team.

DCCav — problem is that the Braves own the Richmond franchise, so that change would not be as simple as changing affiliation agreements.

P-Nats announced their schedule today and it states that they are, "a Washington Nationals affiliate" though I have not heard that the deal was done yet.

Not trying to stir the pot at all, I just thought they might wait until the ink was dry on the new deal with the parent club.
