Geoff Morrow of the Patriot News has the story.
Today, with the city locked in a crippling budget crisis, Reed believes selling the franchise has become necessary. [Mayor Stephen R.] Reed will announce today that the Harrisburg Senators are officially on the market to be sold.
Morrow highlights
- [T]here are at least three interested suitors at the moment, it is highly unlikely a deal will be reached within the next few months
- No guarantee that the team will remain in Harrisburg, though that is Reed’s preference
- The city still would be responsible for stadium upgrades
This is really interesting news and it bears watching the direction of the sale of the Senators.

Food for thought…Lerners’ should buy this franchise outright that way they can take another step to more closely emulating the A-Braves vertically integrated model. If they want to move it in a few years then they can do it pretty quickly.
