Millar just re-signed with Balmer, so one less bump possible. Hawkins also was interested in staying and its unlikely Burnitz would be signed before the arbitration deadline and may even retire.

It all depends upon whether the Nationals offer him arbitration tomorrow (12/1). If they do and someone else signs him, they get a supplemental 1st rounder.

So would I, and only offer ortiz a one year deal… in this market, someone will give him two years, and we collect a draft pick- worst case scenario, he accepts and we have another legit SP, which would bring us to two…
