Of the top 30 prospects, 16 of the top 30 (14 of the top 20) were not in the organization at the beginning of 2006.

Its amazing to realize only 3 of the top 15 were with The Nationals Organziation last season. How bad it must have been (the farm system), to have such a drastic changeover in 8 months, and you can easily say, they are just beginning the overhaul. Just amazing how depleted they were. Thanks for the fresh info, as always.

The challenging part is how fluid this list is likely to be over the next 2-3 years. Not all of the high schoolers drafted are going to develop as “Top 10″ guys. Dana Brown mentioned that four guys to the majors out of a draft class is considered good. Five of the top nine were from the 2006 draft (and Smiley is a 6th added from the amateur ranks), so the Nationals should realistically anticipate only 2-3 of them make it with another 1-2 coming out of later in the draft

The Plan! The Plan! I guess BA data says its starting to work. How does BA rate the overall ML system? Did it move up in the rankings? That when we’ll finally know the Plan is working.
