It appears there isn’t going to be a new stadium for the Potomac Nationals. “Six of the eight board members said in interviews they would not vote to approve the stadium deal. One was undecided, and another could not be reached to comment.”
What does this mean for the P-Nats? A move to someplace that will contribute towards the construction of a new ballpark seems the most likely. Current owner Art Silber could investigate funding the entire project himself. Another option could be the sale of the team to a group that would be willing to fund the entire project.

Are there any other cities in the CL region that would compete for a team and don’t already have one of their own?
The Nats are stuck with this francise until 2010 which gives Silber stability but 09 & 10 may not be to the W-Nats liking if the team is playing in Asheville. Pulaski has an empty stadium now that could use a team…

Hasn’t Montgomery County talked about building a minor league park?
