Unlike the other levels where pitching was the story, the Suns struggled pitching with only Yunior Novoa providing solid or better results with 8.33 innings of 5 hits, 4 runs (only 2 earned), 0 walks, and 7 strikeouts. The other four starters allowed 36 runs in 39.67 innings pitched surrendering 36 hits and 19 walks while striking out 33. The cold weather was likely a factor in the performances. A promising result was the performance of RHRP Aaron Jackson. The soft-tossing righty had half of the Suns wins pitching in 4 games of relief (8.67IP) while striking out 7 and walking only one (though he did hit 4 batters).

Offensively, the Suns were led by 2004 draft pick 2B Leonard Davis (297/308/514 1HR & 6RBI), 2005 draft pick RF Mike Daniel (289/385/644 4HR & 13RBI), 2006 draft pick 1B Brett McMillan (314/415/629 3HR & 5RBI) who had half of the Suns 36 total extra-base hits. Top 2006 prospects LF Chris Marrero and SS Stephen King struggled early on batting a combined 232/284/337 with 34 strikeouts and only 7 walks in 95 total at-bats. Additionally 2005 4th rounder Justin Maxwell struggled again with injury (back spasms this time) while batting only 194/242/419 with 13 strikeouts in only 31 at-bats.
