Buried in last night’s game notes from Bill Ladson was this:
After the Tuesday’s game, the Nationals announced they will option left fielder Kory Casto to Triple-A Columbus and purchase the contract of outfielder Michael Restovich from the Clippers on Wednesday. Washington’s bench is overloaded with left-handed hitters, and the team hopes Restovich can provide power from the right side of the plate.
Given the fact that Chris Snelling was playing regularly (and producing), this move was a no-brainer. There was no reason to have Casto stagnate on the bench when he could be playing everyday in Columbus working on improving.
I want to point you towards the analysis over at Capitol Punishment.

Any word on the corresponding roster move necessary to add Restovich to the 40-man roster? Maybe moving O’Connor or Johnson to the 60-Day DL?
Thanks
