OK - I’m getting curious now. Winston Abreu. He seems to be appearing to be unhittable. Is he another of the AAAA pickups that we had? I assume he’s not on the 40 man, but is he a possibility for later in the season when Rauch / Colome / [insert name here] are exhausted?

Has anyone on this blog seen John Lannan pitch? Curious to see what his velocity is like. He’s racking up some good numbers at Potomac.

Winston Abreau is not on the 40 man. He is also 30, and has spent time in 9 different organizations. While his numbers have been awesome over the 1st month, hard to believe that he will be anything other than a AAAA player. That said, would not be surprised if thru injuries or trades if Abreau gots a shot with the Nats at some point this season.

Kyle - I have seen him pitch. He’s a soft-tossing LHP. His control has been outstanding so for this season, save one game (April 25 @ Winston-Salem). While his ceiling isn’t #1 or 2 SP, he has the potential to develop into a solid back of the rotation starter. It will be interestinf to see how quickly the Nationals push him to Harrisburg. He turns 23 this September and he’ll need to see if he can meet the challenge of Double-A
Kirkie - Pilchard pretty much nailed it. Abreu is a AAAA player but he may be having his career year right now. If the Nationals were to move someone like Jon Rauch, it would not surprise me to see Abreu called up.

Brian - Great info. Thanks for the reply. I need to make it over to see Potomac play soon.
