Suns Downed by Howard’s Rehab

Hagerstown dropped a 7-4 decision (box score) to the the Lakewood BlueClaws who were led by rehabbing Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard. Howard finsished the game with two hits and four RBI (including a game-winning three-run HR in the seventh).

Starter Yunior Novoa pitched five innings allowing nine hits and three runs while striking out four. Reliever Chris Lugo took the loss giving up Howard’s home run in 1 2/3 innings pitched. Compared to their two previous outings where the Suns could only muster three combined hits, the Suns had seven hits led by shortstop Marcos Cabral and first baseman Brett McMillan who had two hits apiece.

The Suns have one game remaining with the BlueClaws to avoid a four-game series sweep.
