Solo home runs in the top of the ninth inning from Mike Restovich and Robin Jennings capped a 5-4 Clippers comeback victory (box score).
Starter TJ Nall struggled in his start allowing all four Pawtucket runs in 4 1/3 innings on six hits (including two homers) and three walks. Columbus RPs Jermaine Van Buren, Arnie Munoz, Chris Schroder, and Chris Booker combined on 4 2/3 innings of three-hit relief allowing no runs while striking out eight and not walking a batter.
Besides the game tying and winning home runs from Restovich and Jennings, the Clippers had two hits each from Brandon Watson, Bernie Castro, Darnell McDonald, and D’Angelo Jimenez. Those hits extended Watson’s hitting streak to 26 games. McDonald leads the International League with 62 hits batting 344/405/489 over 50 games.
