Watson Streak Stopped at 43

All good things come to an end. Clippers outfielder Brandon Watson went 0/5 with three strikeouts, halting his 43-game hitting streak. The good news though was that Columbus picked up the win with a two-hit 6-0 (box) shutout of the Rochester Red Wings. Starting pitcher Jim Magrane picked up his first win for Columbus with six innings allowing two hits and two walks. Luis Ayala and Jermaine Van Buren pitched the final three innings allowing only one base runner. Shortstop D’Angelo Jimenez went 2/4 with four RBI, including a three-run home run. Third baseman Kory Casto chipped in with a 3/5 and two RBI. Second baseman Bernie Castro (2/5 with 2SB) and left fielder Darnell McDonald (1/3 with 1SB) each scored twice.
