The Nationals outrighted RHP Beltran Perez to Double-A Harrisburg today. Perez is 4-3 with a 5.81 ERA in 11 games (nine starts) with Harrisburg in 2007. With this move the Nationals 40-man roster has 35 players.
Over the past couple of weeks the Nationals have been cleaning up their 40-man roster, removing players who are not part of the long-term plan. Larry Broadway, Mike Hinckley, andĀ Frank Diaz were removed last week. The Nationals appear to be clearing spots on their 40-man for players that are acquired via trades.
