When are we going to hear about the results of Bowden’s sleepover at Burgess’s house? If he doesn’t sign the kid after making such a big show of his attempt to do it, he will look like a fool. I know this is not something Bowden fears much, but he has a real chance to earn our respect if he successfully signs everyone except maybe Jack McGeary (that was a stretch from the start).

In the Gulf Coast League...

The G-Nats finally picked up a win today, they still haven't won a road game but they did take a 0-0 tie into the eighth against the G-Cards. That game will be finished July 5 at the Nats complex followed by the regularly scheduled game.

Souza hit his first professional home run, a three-run bomb that brought the Nationals within a run. However, Souza admired his handy work far too long, drawing the ire of the G-Mets and the Nats coaching staff, Souza was promptly benched for his actions, which left the Nats with an interesting defensive alignment since they were short on infielders to begin the game.

Smolinski smashed two more doubles, surprise, surprise.

Diagnosis on Moises Corporan is that he tore the ligament in his elbow, he will need Tommy John.

King tweaked a hammy June 30 versus the G-Cards. He pinch hit and drove in the game tying run with a sacrifice fly but did not stay in the game for defense.

Tolan batted leadoff struggled at the plate going 1-for-5, striking out four times. His first inning base hit could have very well been ruled an error.

Beno debuted and looked great striking out two in his inning pitched.

Estrada struggled and likely earned himself another rehab appearance.

Matias pitched three shutout innings for the win in the finest outting of his career.

The G-Nats pitched their way into and out of trouble all day. They won despite being out hit 14-7, stranding thirteen men on base.

Brian, thanks for the updates.
The team record is pretty bad, but there seem to be some good prospects on the roster.
Would you say King, Smolinski and Englund are the best of the bunch?

Englund has been the best foul ball retriever, he's only been in one game.
