The G-Nats finally picked up a win today, they still haven’t won a road game but they did take a 0-0 tie into the eighth against the G-Cards. That game will be finished July 5 at the Nats complex followed by the regularly scheduled game.

Souza hit his first professional home run, a three-run bomb that brought the Nationals within a run. However, Souza admired his handy work far too long, drawing the ire of the G-Mets and the Nats coaching staff, Souza was promptly benched for his actions, which left the Nats with an interesting defensive alignment since they were short on infielders to begin the game.

The G-Nats pitched their way into and out of trouble all day. They won despite being out hit 14-7, stranding thirteen men on base.
