The Washington Nationals added IF Trevor Lawhorn to the Hagerstown Suns from the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association (independent league). In 30 games with the Canaries this season, Lawhorn hit .305 with eight homers and 24 RBI. Lawhorn was signed earlier this season by the Seattle Mariners and played for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers where he batted 0.259 with 3 homers and 29 RBI over 29 games.

Interesting. Is he a third baseman or a short stop? My guess is he’s intended to replace Davis. Without Davis the Suns’ offense is pretty anemic (led by Cabral, Lindon Bond, Pat Nichols and Joe Napoli)…everybody else on the Suns is under .250. Heck Napoli and Nichols are only in the .260s. Martinez is playing hard. I hope they let him finish out the season. He deserves it.

My understanding is that Lawhorn is strictly a 3rd sacker, which leaves Martinez and Cabral in place.
