McGeary and Smoker in Vermont? Im very suprised, figured they would stay under more organizational control in the GCL. I assume theyre only gonna get a few innings tho

GCL season ends today. Vermont plays til 7 Sept. Same reason last year Gibson (a late August sign) played for Vermont and not the GCL.

Gibson made three appearances for Vermont at the end of the 2006 season (6 total IP). I'd imagine Smoker & McGeary will do the exact same thing.

Baldwin is an interesting guy. He's put up some solid numbers for the Suns as both a reliever and as a starter. As a 31st round draft pick, guys like him typically don't get the publicity that the guys tabbed in the first few rounds do. I'd imagine Baldwin is a sure thing for Potomac in 2008. The difficulty for Baldwin is likely to be the fact that his fastball is only in the high-80s. He can excel but the window for him is smaller. As a LHP he is going to have every opportunity
