Pretty amazing that no team finished with more than 100 losses this year. That’s a pretty tight grouping. None of the bottom 10 teams are good, but none of them are all that bad. Wonder if the front office will regret not tanking just a bit more given all the expectations. 9th pick is fine, I suppose. No free agents to garner comp picks from this off-season, so Bowden and co. have their work cut out for them.

2007 was still a good year for the franchise. The team ’s results were better than predicted; they played hard every game as compared to some other teams; the draft was great; the farm system improved; Bowden made some good player personnel moves and Manny Acta turned out to be a very good manager with his player moves and the X’s & O’s. The big question is: Will they improve in 2008 or have we seen the best that they have?

I would say that the O’s were definitely one of the teams that did not appear to play as hard as the Nats did. The Nats have been in DC 3 years, and finished ahead of the Orioles all three times. This year must have irked Angelos more than normal. The Orioles were supposed to be better than this, and the Nats were supposed to be worse.

And the O’s spend $40mil on their worthless bullpen. And the GM had the nerve to fire the manager!! The Nats had better results with their collection of cast-offs.

I Love it! More money on the Orioles futuile bullpen than what the Nats entire roster cost. And no one wants to trade anything for our relievers. Bet me that NY Mets wish they had traded for Rauch about right now… Too bad. OK now as Bowden says the REAL season starts…. probably a good time to start figuring out who the top ten available for the 08 draft will be… we’ll get at least one.
