I thought I read in the last week or two, maybe the Boone Q&A on MLB, that the team had decided to move Marrero to 1B. Do you know if the Everts conversion to relief pitcher permanent or just something for this season? He certainly did a lot better as a reliever. Martis may be a guy that is flying a bit under the radar with all the spotlights on the recent draft pick pitchers. Nice job on all these reviews.

TF - Yes. Marrero has been splitting time with Bill Rhinehart at 1B in the Instructionals. Not sure whether it's going to be a permanent thing but it seems more an more likely a move to 1B is in the near future.

As for Everts, I think the bullpen might be good place for him. Especially if he can follow the Adam Carr path and just air it out for an inning three or so times per week.

Following Desmond’s performance after July when they moved him to the top of the order gave some hope. I think it was pretty easy to write him off as an overhyped suspect prospect especially after his struggles last year. But it’s also easy to forget that he was pushed too fast, which wasn’t his fault, and that he is still pretty young. He not only hit better when he was moved to the top of the order but over the season he improved his walk totals, power numbers, K’s, and SBs from last year as well. It should be interesting to see which Desmond shows up next year. Hopefully there is some fire there and not just smoke.

Does this mean that we might finally see a winning team on the island next year? Great job Brian, I really enjoy your website.

I'm curious why Devin Ivany is not listed as a top 10 prospect, but was selected to replace Jesus Flores in ARI fall ball? Age or talent? I believe we were required to replace Flores with another catcher, but surely we have another catcher in the organzation that would garner a top 10 listing somewhere...or do we?

Honestly, catching is an area where the organization needs to grow. Aside from Flores, the rest of the top catching prospects aren't of the top 10 variety. Ivany has the ability to develop into perhaps a utility catcher but that seems to be his ceiling.

pahou,

I sure hope we have a winning team in Harrisburg next year. While the players and front office staff were very nice, at times it was difficult to watch. They finished the season with some good young players and the team played pretty good at the end. Next season Harrisburg should have a fun team to watch.

How do you project David Trahan to do next year, considering this was his first year throwing from a new sidearm slot and already putting up an ERA in the 2's in high A and AA? I also read he had a 17 inn scoreless streak at one point.. Not bad.
