Does this prelude a potential move of the Harrisburg affiliate to the White Sox farm system?

Does the ownership of the minor league affiliate make much (or any) difference in the quality of the system?

Q1: The Senators are in a partnership with the Nationals until 2010. I'm not sure there would be any reason for the White Sox to change their Double-A affiliate. They have centralized all of their affiliates in the southern VA/Carolina area

Q2: No bearing whatsoever. They run the team based upon the players that the Nationals provide them.

In the article say that in the new contrac, the owners agree to keep The Nationals Senators for the next 29 years.

The agreement is to keep the Senators in Harrisburg for the next 29 years. Affiliation agreements are between the MLB team and the minor league team … that’s the one expiring in 2010

I am still waiting to hear the true story. The Patriot News reported back in July or early August, that if the stadium floods and the city doesnt spent the money to put the stadium back in order, then the team can be moved. Plus the man is paying more in rent on the stadium then what the city reported as profits each year.
Still waiting to hear how much my season tickets are going up next year, bottom line as fans we have been sold out by Steven Reed and the City Council that hates him.

City ownership may become a legitimate option for Hagerstown. With no new stadium, it’s only a matter of time before Mandalay Baseball wants to get out. It’s unfortunate. I believe they’re redoing the infield this winter. And that they might redo the entire field in early 2009.
