The Washington Nationals today reassigned left-handed pitcher Arnie Munoz and right-handed pitcher Steven Shell to minor-league camp.
That leaves 41 players in major league camp.
Additional minor league transaction

I have no problem with this. Shell will be up this year. The Dave Johnson cachet will hold. As for Dan Foli, let’s be realistic. The minors are still full of unrealistic expectations. It is not ridiculous to spend one slot on a valued employee’s son’s dream.
Baseball is not remotely a fair, representative democracy. There are innumerable minor leaguers who are no more than lottery tickets.

Sure, he’s only 27 with a career 4.35 ERA. It’s not like there’s somebody somewhere more talented elsewhere who could fill that slot, right?

Hi Brian
Excuse me! I am a Natsfan in Taiwan with poor English.
Do u know someone in scouting department? IN 2008 IBAF Final Olympic Qualifying Tournament, I saw a Taiwan player “Chen-Chang Lee” have good and raw stuff which need to refine. Maybe We have a chance to stretch our market to Taiwan. When Chien-Ming Wang became a really Yankee, many Taiwaness became Yankees’ fans. They look Yankees games, bought T-shirts marked “NY”. Just need 0.1M dollars and visa,it’s a cheap investment.

Because finding that 27 year-old with a career 4.15 ERA is going to be the final piece of the Columbus IL Championship puzzle, right WUL?

They released several GOOD players, like Cristian Guerrero, at the time Foli was released and Foli, with his record, is worthy of being resigned because his dad works for the team? Well why not resign the other players that were released? At least they could actually play ball and had skill !

Indeed. With Bowden’s Cincy connections, shouldn’t Pete Rose Jr. have a shot, too?
