Did all of the minor leaguers have Spring Training? Or do the lower levels just convene when the seasons begin? I understand that minor league ST is in Viera as well, but I never gave much thought to how many of the players are actually there.

All of the minor leaguers are down there. I know someone who was down there and they told me there were over 100 players in minor league camp. When you add up a 25-man roster for Columbus, Harrisburg, Potomac, Hagerstown, Vermont, GCL, and some from the DSL, you have lots of people. From my recollection, they have a 'camp' for each full season level with an overall camp for extended spring training that those not assigned stay at to work out and play against other teams

It appears tomorrow might be a pretty major day as far as minor league players being released. Last week players were given meal money to get them to Tuesday... which is a "camp day". I'm sure everyone who is on the bubble is nervous.

At one time, Levinski was a big one time prospect.
The Expos drafted him in the second round in 2002. He was named the team's minor league player of the year and a Midwest League All-Star RHP in the same year. Started out strong.
Don was sought after by other teams and later involved in trades for Cliff Floyd, and later Jeff Conine.
Injuries curtailed a once promising carer.
Good luck Levinski!

Hey Brian,

Hope all is well, wondering if you'd heard anything about the prospect the Nationals are bringing in for a workout today?

"Nats Host Dominican Teenager

The Nationals are scheduled to host a workout Tuesday morning for one of the top Latin American prospects available in this year's signing period, Dominican shortstop Alvaro Aristy, according to sources. Aristy, 16, is the only top international prospect to have secured a visa to travel to the United States and work out for clubs privately before the end of spring training. . . ."

Wow, Trahan was released?? Are the Nationals that good to let a guy go with a 2-something era in AA?

For no reason in particular, always rooted for Aaron Jackson, thought he deserved a shot after his year in 2k6. He's only 22, guess he didn't take to his change to reliever last year.
