Brian

Where's Brad Meyers? After last year's performance, he should be at least in Potomac rotation but he's not listed on Columbus, Harrisburg, Potomac or Hagerstown rosters. Is he still with the Nats? Is he injured?

Building up his arm strength in extended spring training. No official word whether or not he's injured, but according to the Nationals, he'll be headed to a full season affiliate once they feel he's ready.

Where's Smoker? I know that he's in extended spring training, but do you know why? Also, when McGreary (sp?) comes in from school, any ideas where he'll head? As always, thanks Brian.

My thoughts with Smoker and McGeary is that the Nationals will handle them the same way they did Colton Willems and Glenn Gibson last year. Keep them (at least Smoker) in extended spring with the goal of them fronting the rotation for Vermont when they get started in June (opening day is June 17). There is little reason to rush them.

Brian

Meyers building up his arm strength...is he eating his Wheaties!! His arm was find last year. Did he not show up in good condition? Or,are the Nats unsure of where to put him and they're keeping him in Florida until an injury/poor performance/promotion happens?

Brian
The Harrisburg rotation looks very weak with Brownlie, Hall & Ramirez as fillers (non-prospects)and Martis and Estrada continuing to have their problems. Look for Detwiler or Van Allen to move to Harrisburg and Meyers to move to Potomac

Meyers is on the 7-day DL per Baseball America; maybe he had arm soreness or tendinitis that prevented him from building arm strength during the spring. Who knows? From what Brian has heard, at least it sounds as if the "injury" is nothing serious. Booker and Bittner started in extended spring and since have been placed; if I had to guess, Meyers will be headed to Hagerstown once ready.
