Tonight: RHP Collin Balester (1-1, 1.88) open a series in Toledo and RHP Jeremy Johnson (3-0, 3.21) at 6:30PM
An RBI single by 1B Andrew Lefave led the Harrisburg Senators toa 4-3 victory over the Erie SeaWolves (box/gamer). It was Lefave’s second hit and second RBI in the game. CF Justin Maxwell was 0/2 but walked and scored twice. CA Luke Montz was 1/2 with a walk and extended his hitting streak to seven games. LF Mike Daniel was 2/3 with one RBI. RHP Shairon Martis started and threw six solid innings allowing only two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk. He was perfect for five of those innings with all of the hits, walks and runs coming in the second. RHPs Josh Perrault and Jim Ed Warden combined for the final 1 2/3 hitless innings of relief with Perrault picking up his first win and Warden his second save. Tonight: RHP Josh Hall (1-1, 7.53) faces Erie RHP Ben Fritz (0-0, 5.06) at 6:05PM
The P-Nats were held to only three hits in a 2-0 shutout loss to Winston-Salem (box/gamer). Potomac could only manage singles from 2B Matt Rogelstad, SS Seth Bynum, and 3B Leonard Davis (Davis also had a stolen base). 1B Chris Marrero was 0/2 but drew two walks. Lost in this defeat was a strong performance from RHP Jhonny Nuñez who struck out ten over six innings. Nuñez dropped to 0-2 despite allowing only three hits and one run (a solo homer). He has now thrown 20 2/3 innings this year with an excellent 27/2 K/BB ratio. RHP Zech Zinicola made his fifth sscoreless appearance of the season, pitching the final inning without allowing a hit and striking out one. This season, Zinicola is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 0.54 WHIP in 9 1/3 iings of work with ten strikeouts.

RF Michael Burgess hit his team-leading fourth home run, a two-run shot in the first inning, as the Suns downed the BlueClaws 6-2 in Hagerstown Monday evening (box/gamer). Burgess was 2/3 with the homer and two runs scored. 3B Steve Souza was 0/3 but dre a walk and stole his fifth base of the season in his twelfth game for Hagerstown. 1B Bill Rhinehart was 2/4 with a runs socred, 2B Jake Smolinski was 1/4 with a pair of RBI, SS Dan Lyons was 2/4 with one RBI, and DH Aaron Seuss was 1/4 with an RBI and run scored. RHP Terrence Engles moved to 3-0 on the season, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings, striking out four. RHPs Randy Matias and Martin Beno finished it off for the Suns allowing only one run on three hits over the final four innings with Beno picking up his second save on the season.

It’s good to see Lefave improving. Perhaps he can earn more playing time even after “Little Papi” returns from his ankle injury.
Justin Maxwell may have gone 0-for-2, but he still has an OPS of .920. Not shabby.

Jeff - Definitely promising to see some positive signs from Burgess. While not yet a streak of note, he’s had hits in four straight games (three of those games with two hits). Homered in back-to-back games. And has drawn two walks and only K’d twice in his last 15 plate appearances. Baby steps? Sure. But an improvement nonetheless
