I haven't seen Stephen King with the team for a while. Maybe he was transfered out of Hagerstown to make room for Pena?

Suns Fan - King was re-assigned to extended spring a couple of weeks ago. My guess is they'll move one of the arms used last night, maybe Harrison, back to extended spring

Ah, that makes sense. I was out of the loop when that happened! I could see Peacock being sent back to extended Spring. He's had a rough go of it so far.

re: Peacock ... that would be an understatement.

Have you had many chances to see him in person? I wonder if there is something similar to what is going on with Ross Detwiler, a tweak to his mechanics which he has yet to get comfortable with.

Thank you very much for your effort in posting the daily Across The Affiliates notes. I look forward to reading them each morning instead of the Washington Post Sports Page. You do a GREAT job!!!

I've seen Peacock's last two starts. I am not an expert in pitching mechanics, and can only tell what I think the problem could be from my pictures and observations. To me, it looks like his back is twisted way over towards the first base line when he pitches his fast balls. The result: fast balls at the belt, which get hit into the trees. Even in low A, if you put a fast ball at the belt down the middle of the plate, it's going to be a home run.

To be fair to Peacock, Greensboro has a stacked team offensively. That said, Municipal Stadium is a pitcher's park when the wind isn't blowing out; it's been blowing in and still for Peacock's last two starts.

The Suns defense wasn't exactly stellar in either of Peacock's games too. That should definitely be viewed as a mitigating factor. Peacock isn't pitching well, but sometimes statistics in the minors get exaggerated.

Going to extended spring to fix whatever problems in mechanics he has would be good. It could also be that he's trying to throw the ball too hard. Again, I'm not an expert in pitching.

Do you think it could be the bats the Nationals are using? Maybe we bought a bat batch from Louisville.

Rhinehart with another good game so far. I wonder if they'd consider just bumping him up to AA. Marrero doesn't seem to be ready yet and Rhinehart is old enough that he may be ready for a chance like that.

If they decide to move Rhinehart up I wonder if a position change might be in order if Marrero isn't looking ready to move to AA. Maybe if Burgess is ready too we can have a heart of the order in Potomac of Rhinehart, Marrero and Burgess.

That should solve Potomac's offensive woes...

I would say Rhinehart is a first baseman. He is pretty good defensively at first. His arm is lacking. If he was going to play the outfield, it'd have to be left. And I think that's a strech for Rhinehart.
