Should be six earned on Peacock–the error that caused the scoring in the top of the first was on Peacock. Though the scorer didn’t score it that way, he made two errors on the same play (muffed the ball–in his defense a broken bat was flying around too, but it was a soft pop up and a playable ball–then he threw the ball into the right field corner). After that, two pitches to the backstop allowed Kannapolis to score two runs (one scored wild pitch, one passed ball). They pulled him after 2 1/3 innings. I hope he can figure out what’s wrong and improve. On the bright side, the bullpen was pretty good, allowing no runs over 6 2/3 innings. Luis Altiano was good for 4 scoreless innings.
There was a fierce wind blowing in. Burgess’ homer was crushed even though it barely cleared the wall. Rhinehart’s double would’ve been a homer on another day. Municipal Stadium is a tough place to hit homer runs at when the wind is blowing in. When it’s blowing out, it’s a launching pad. Most of the time, it blows in.

Though Harrisburg was rained out today, for the record, Tristan Crawford (RHP) was the scheduled pitcher.

Gildea to Hagerstown. Haven’t figured out who he replaced yet.

I knew Gildea was in Hagerstown. Just wasn’t sure when he was getting activated. Trevor Lawhorn seems the most likely to come off the roster (save an injury)

Englund? He’s struggled a lot.

Nice game by Gildea. How is he viewed as a prospect?

Stephen Englund flew back to Florida yesterday to get some work in in extended Spring. I don’t know, but would expect him to go to Vermont when they start up in early June. He just needs to get his confidence back…he is a very young 3rd year guy who is making slow, but steady progress. There is no need to rush him at this early point in his career. He’s a great kid who works hard…and he’ll be back!

Why was Dubois released? He just came to the Nats this year.

Mama - I’m no expert, but I would say they released Dubois for three reasons: 1] Lack of prodcution (.217 and stikes out too much) 2] A log jam at 1st exists and a promotion within the farm system could be made soon (L. Jaminez to Columbus?). 3] They wanted Casto back in the mix for OF production.
But don’t quote me.

Yeah, I was @ the Hagerstown game Saturday night. There’s a reason you play in low-A, and I saw it “up close and personal”.
At least Michael Burgess showed why he’s the 4th-best prospect in the Nats farm system. Any timetable on his moving up to Potomac??
