Another bad day for the four affiliates …

The Clippers dropped the game and the four-game series to Louisville with a 6-3 loss on Thursday afternoon (box/gamer). RHP Collin Balester was solid over six innings of work, allowing only two runs on fours hits and one walk while striking out five. He struggled some in the first allowing a run but settled down retiring thirteen batters in a row before giving up his second run in his final inning of work. RHPs Chris Booker and Dennis Tankersley struggled in their relief appearances, surrendering four runs on five hits and one walk over three innings pitched. RF Kory Casto was 2/5 with a double and a run scored and LF Frank Diaz was 1/2 with two walks and a two-run double in his Triple-A debut.

Harrisburg fell behind 5-0 but could not rally falling 5-3 to Akron (box/gamer). RHP Joe Norrito made the trip upt to Harrisburg from Potomac for a spot start, giving up three runs on six hits and four walks over five innings pitched. The Senators scored all of their runs during an eight inning rally with 2B William Bergolla (1/3 with a double), CF Roger Bernadina (2/4), and DH Luke Montz (1/4) driving in the runs. SS Ian Desmond was 2/4 with a run scored.

Potomac rallied from an early deficit but could not make it all the back, losing 10-9 to Lynchburg (box/gamer). RHP Terrence Engles fell to 0-5 on the season surrendering seven runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks in just three innings of work. RHP Clint Everts was knocked around for six hits and three runs in his 2 2/3 innings of relief. CA Brian Peacock was 3/4 with three doubles and four RBI, DH Matt Rogelstad was 2/5 with a double and three RBI, and SS Seth Bynum was 1/3 with a walk and three runs scored.

Hagerstown blew a 4-2 lead, falling to Delmarva 7-4 in ten innings (box/gamer). RHP Jeff Mandel was solid over six innings, allowing a pair of runs on six hits an one walk while striking out six. RHPs Chris Lugo & Erik Arnesen struggled over their five combined innings of relief allowing five runs on six hits and three walks. 2B Trevor Lawhorn was 1/3 with a solo homer and 1B Bill Rhinehart went 2/5 with a double and his 49th RBI. 3B Stephen King (1/4) and RF Aaron Seuss (1/5) each had one RBI in the losing effort.
