Across the Affiliates will be on hiatus for the weekend as I finish a research paper. It will return on Monday AM.
In the interim, got word that LHP Josh Smoker is headed back to Hagerstown. He’ll likely replace RHP Hassan Pena in the rotation.
Also, 3B Steve Souza is out for the remainder of the season with a broken hamate bone and 2B Nick Arata might miss a few games after colliding with OF Michael Guerrero. Arata took the brunt of the damage getting stitches in his lip.

Both Dukes and Hood played left field for the GCL Nats today. Hood was 2 for 2.

Great day for our young prospects. Like you said destin hood was 2 for 2 and 2 stolen bases. Josh Smoker went six strong, only giving up one hit. Smiley was 2 for 4. Bonifacio was 2 for 3 with a walk, and scored 3 runs. Bernadina was 1 for 4, and Ian Desmond hit his 7th homer for Harrisburg. Not to mention Dukes playing. He must of recovered a lot faster than he was expected. Days like this give me reason to hope for the future.

Garrett T- Make that 4 runs scored by Bonifacio, we don’t want to short change the guy. I’ve been pretty impress by this kid so far, and I would love for him to prove me wrong about this being a bad trade for us.

The game wasn’t over when I posted. Bonifacio ended up 2 for 3, 2 walks, and 4 runs scored.

How did J.Zimmermann pitch friday night? I’m still hoping to see him called up in September and make the rotation out of ST next spring.
Ronny | 27-Jul-08 at 9:57 am | Permalink
I think Zimmermann went 7IP, 2ER, 4H, 0BB, and 4SO.

Nice! As long as your doing my research for me; how are Michael Burgess and Eury Perez doing?
Ronny | 27-Jul-08 at 10:57 am | Permalink
