Update: Apparently the word “absolutely” is my verbal crutch. For those who want to see the piece, here is the MASN link
Just got done talking with Byron Kerr and Phil Wood about Nationals prospects on the MASN pre-game show. They were well-prepared and tested my knowledge of the Nationals system. They asked questions on players ranging from Roger Bernadina to Ross Detwiler to Shairon Martis to Mike Daniel. Definitely kept me on my toes.
Thanks to Matt and MASN for the opportunity.

What, no questions about Jose Pinales, Garrett Bass, Trevor Lawhorn, Yuerys Tejeda, or Marcos Yepez? We all know you are very well prepared.

I said in the last post(I don’t know if you saw it) you did a good job of dropping some knowledge. Are you going to be on once a week or was it just a one time thing?

Damn, missed it! Would have been fun to watch!

Brian, thanks for the link, that was a good piece. Nothing new for us seamheads at NFA, but it was good to see you impart your wisdom to the masses.

Understood… I’m weak for “absolutely,” too; probably got that way after my ninth-grade English teacher broke me of “definitely”… %^O

Hendo - They caught me off-guard with a couple questions so I used absolutely to fill time until I could come up with something

Excellent job. Came home from work just in time to catch you!

Great job, its good to see the site get some media attention. Your answers were informative and concise. Hope to see (or hear) you back on soon!
Scott | 27-Aug-08 at 9:46 pm | Permalink
Well done - you sounded knowledgeable and answered their questions without hesitation. You handled the Detweiler question well - willing to be critical without writing him off.
I hope they bring you back to give an evaluation of each level of talent (A-AAA).

I’m watching now.
congrats Brian, you and this blog deserve the props, as you are the authority on the Nats Farm System.
it’s nice to see some recognition for you.

Sorry I missed it. I’m glad you got to do it though. I hope it becomes a regular thing.

The biggest nonsuprize of the day - Brian does an
outstanding job discussing the prospects on the farm.
Remember we knew you before you were bigtime.
It was a richly deserved recognition of your expertice and dedication.
Congratulations!
Let’s play two!

So he informed our fan(s) about the team? He wasn’t relentlessly negative like most of those fanblogs? He works for free?
Sign him up!

Sign him up….and double his salary!!
(cos, you know, double nothing is still….oh, nevermind).

also, it is kinda rich to see the almighty Phil Wood deferring to one of those “internet bloggers” that he seems to dislike so much for expert analysis.

Nice work, Brian! You sound like you know what you’re talking about ;-)
Seriously, I wish I could have the calm demeanor you displayed here - I’d be like “Ummm.. yeah. Pitching - Yes. Strike outs. Bernandina - Ross. Daniel, Mike. Home runs. Ummm…. Minor league teams.”

Thanks for the link, I enjoyed getting the voice behind the blog. Next time I guess we’ll see you at the desk??
Your site is the best.

Absolutely a great job Brian! ;-)
Does MASN pay their guests to appear? I apologize in advance if that gets into “none of your business” territory, but I was always curious about whether TV networks and radio stations pay their guests to appear or whether the idea of just getting the publicity is sufficient compensation.

Now if the FO would only listen to you or sign you up as a scout - would you give up that cushy CD-consultant job for that? ;^)

Oops - DC-consultant!

Finally caught the interview. Didn’t sound as if you missed a beat, Brian. I’m sure they’ll have you back.
