Brown came within a home run of hitting for the cycle. 25-year old 2B Matt Rogelstad was 2/3 with a double and two RBI. 23-year old RF Aaron Seuss was 2/4 with a run scored. 23-year old CA Jhonathan Solano was 2/4 with a solo homer & two runs scored. And, 19-year old DH Michael Burgess was 0/2 with a pair of walks. This was more than enough offense for 24-year old RHP Erik Arnesen who picked up his fourth win, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits over 5IP with two strikeouts.

Hey Brian, how about giving Ozzie Rodriguez a shot at a promotion? I know it’s early and he’s only pitched 3 (solid) games in Hagerstown but the dude is 24 years old and shouldn’t be starting next season in Potomac if he is to be regarded as a “prospect”. I’d love to give him a couple of starts in Potomac this year and see how he does and possibly let him start out in Harrisbug in 2009.

Potomac has four games left. His turn in the rotation would not come up until the playoffs. They could give him the promotion today, but I’m not sure they will.

With the Blue Rocks and P-Nats all but assured (Wilmington’s magic # is 1 for a slot; Potomac’s magic # is 2 for the 2nd half) of meeting in the first round, is there anything preventing the Nats — other than a lack of imagination — from swapping some pitchers with Hagerstown over the weekend?

Smolinski looks NICE when he gets some playing time. Should be ripping it at Hagerstown to start 200 and probably on to Potomac at some point in that year. Hagerstown should have a SWEET squad to start 2009.

LF - Guerrero; CF - Jones; RF - Higley; C - Norris
Left off first base, because we don’t have a good one. I would take a spare OF and put him at first. Spare OF could be Englund; Curran; Ramirez; Hood - Depends on who comes up from GCL.
