Columbus cobbled together ashutout from four relievers, blanking Toledo 4-0 (box/gamer). RHP Levale Speigner started things off, allowing just two hits over 3IP with two strikeouts; RHP Jim Ed Warden picked up the win with four one-hit innings of relief, striking out five; RHPs Ryan Wagner and Brian Sanches each pitched an inning of relief giving up one hit apiece. A rehabbing SS Alberto Gonzalez was 2/4 with a run scored. RF Kory Casto was 2/3 with a pair of walks, solo homer, and two RBI. LF Leonard Davis was 2/5 with a double and RBI. And, CF Roger Bernadina was 2/5 with a double and two runs scored.

LHP Ross Detwiler continued his dominance over Wilmington as Potomac clinched the second half title with a 3-1 victory (box/gamer). Detwiler allowed only one run on four hits and three walks over 6IP with six strikeouts. LHP Jack Spradlin pitched one scoreless inning of relief, allowing two hits and striking out one. And, RHP  Clint Everts picked up the two inning save, allowing one hit and striking out a pair. 2B Michael Martinez  was 2/4 with a double and a run scored; 1B Andrew Lefave was 2/4 with a double & two runs scored; and LF Dee Brown was 1/2 with one RBI. With this win and a Frederick loss, the Carolina North playoffs are set as the P-Nats will host the Blue Rocks starting on September 3 in Woodbidge.

The DSL Nationals1 won their first game with the DSL Angels 3-1 (box). RHP Luis Ortega picked up the win, allowing one unearned run on four hits and one walk over 7IP with eight strikeouts. RHP Jonathan Molina picked up the save with two no-hit shutout innings of relief, striking out one. CF Eury Perez was 1/3 with two walks and a stolen base. DH Danny Taveras was 1/5 with a double and two RBI. RF Angelberth Montilla was 1/3 with a walk. And, CA Ricardo Martinez was 1/3 with a walk and run. Notes: In the other DSL series, the DSL Giants defeated the DSL Mariners 2-1 in game one of their series.
